NEW AD: Hinojosa Calls Out Greg Abbott Putting Data Centers Before Texans

Austin, TX – Today, Democratic nominee for Texas Governor Gina Hinojosa released a new campaign ad, “Greg Abbott: Delivering Data Centers,” about Greg Abbott letting data center corporations run roughshod over Texas communities for over a decade, with no rules, regulations, or protections for Texans or their water and energy.

Just last November, Abbott vowed to make the state “the epicenter of AI” data centers and has accepted $20 million in campaign contributions from data center interests alone.

The new digital ad highlights how Greg Abbott made Texas the Wild West of data centers by offering them the largest tax breaks in the country, even as Texans’ property taxes skyrocketed by 85%.

An overwhelming number of Texans don’t support data centers in their communities, and they know Abbott’s election-year lies and hypocrisy are just more false promises. Texans are ready for change, which is why three polls in the last month show Hinojosa beating Abbott. Voters are sick of Abbott letting data centers harm their communities, and they’ll make that clear at the ballot box this November.

Sure, property taxes have gone up 85% under Abbott. But Texas now has 335 data centers, with at least 248 more on the way.

Others talk about building data centers, but Governor Greg Abbott got it done.

Just imagine how much he could do in four more years.
