NEW AD: High School Football Coach, 3-Time Abbott Voter Outlines Why He’s Voting for Gina Hinojosa

Austin, TX – Today, Democratic nominee for Texas Governor Gina Hinojosa released a new campaign ad, “Coach,” featuring Coach Tim Buchanan, a Texas high school football coach and three-time Abbott voter, outlining why he’s getting off the sidelines and voting for Gina Hinojosa.

In the ad, which will join the campaign’s seven-figure statewide rotation, Coach Buc calls out Abbott’s failed leadership, from property taxes going up 85% to schools being forced to close their doors and move to four-day weeks while his corporate donors get rich off Texans’ backs.

From her time in the legislature fighting alongside MAGA moms to defeat vouchers in 2023 to now, Hinojosa has built a broad coalition by meeting Texans in their communities where they are. Now, she’s leading Abbott in multiple independent polls – including winning over 9% of Republican voters – because Texans are ready for her to deliver on her plan to secure the American Dream by saving public schools and putting money in people’s pockets.

Tim Buchanan: I’m Coach Buchanan. As a football coach, I won eight state championships. I know how to read a scoreboard.

Under Greg Abbott, the billionaires are up, and Texas is down. Taxes are through the roof. Parents stressed out. That’s Abbott’s corruption, and it’s costing us everything.

I voted for Abbott three times, but I’m getting off the sidelines for Gina Hinojosa. Gina’s running for governor to take on the billionaires and always put our kids first.
