NEW AD: Hinojosa Releases “Flock Hunt” Ad

Austin, TX – Today, Democratic nominee for Texas Governor Gina Hinojosa released a new campaign ad, “Flock Hunt,” highlighting how Greg Abbott invited Flock to install 10,000 surveillance cameras in Texas. The ad will join the campaign’s seven-figure statewide rotation.

WATCH THE FULL AD HERE.

Last year, Abbott handed Flock a $26 million contract to operate in Texas. Now, Flock cameras are operating in dozens of Texas cities and counties and are “heavily subsidized by state grants,” which can cover 75-80% of the cost. Despite his flip-flop to save face, localities across the state “expect Abbott will reinstate funding for the surveillance cameras, which are politically unpopular, after the election.”

As Governor, Gina Hinojosa will ensure local law enforcement has the tools, resources, and training needed to keep their communities safe – without unlawful surveillance.

Transcript:

Narrator: In Greg Abbott’s Texas, we’re all sitting ducks. 10,000 cameras tracking your every move.

This ain’t some crackpot conspiracy. It’s foul play by big government, and Abbott wants more.

Texas, let’s get our freedoms back.

While the ad is paid for and authorized by the Gina Hinojosa Campaign, the campaign does not endorse any destruction of flock cameras and recommends voters remove them by electing a new governor.
