RECAP: Gina Hinojosa Joins Friday Night Lights Game, State Fair of Texas, and Tailgates at PVAMU in North Texas
DALLAS, TX – Over the weekend, Democratic nominee for Texas Governor Gina Hinojosa campaigned across Dallas-Fort Worth, attending a high school football game and the Texas State Fair, visiting small businesses, and hosting a rally in Arlington. Wrapping up the weekend, Hinojosa headlined a rally at the Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site, which drew hundreds of voters in heavy rain.

Hinojosa kicked off the weekend attending a high school football game with Friday Night Lights star Adrianne Palicki. Hinojosa connected with local Cedar Hill school leaders and outlined her plan to save Texas public schools by firing Mike Morath and appointing an educator to lead the TEA, ending the voucher scam and corrupt STAAR test, returning school districts that have been taken over back to their communities, and wiping clean Abbott’s no-bid vendor contracts and using that money to make Teachers among the highest paid in the country. She then joined the stands to watch the Friday Night Lights match up between the Cedar Hill Longhorns and Lancaster Tigers.
On Saturday, Hinojosa stopped by the State Fair of Texas to meet with voters and visit the Texas Department of Agriculture’s Go Texan Pavilion to see all the work going into feeding Texans. She then attended the State Fair Classic tailgate with D9 fraternities and sororities ahead of the Grambling State v. Prairie View A&M game.
Hinojosa on Sunday visited Marquez Bakery & Tortilla Factory, where she spoke to the owners about running a small business in a high-cost economy.
She later hosted a rally in Arlington, speaking to voters about the Tarrant County Commissioners closing 92 polling locations just weeks before the election.
Hinojosa then traveled to the historic LBJ Ranch, where she spoke in the rain to the hundreds of Texans about the stakes of this election and her vision to save the American Dream.
