STATEMENT: Hinojosa On Flooding Across Southwest Texas

Austin, TX – Today, Democratic nominee for Texas Governor Gina Hinojosa released the following statement as heavy rains cause floods across Central and South Texas:

“Right now, Texans across the Hill Country and the border are watching the water rise and are worried for their families. If you are in the path of this storm, listen to first responders and local officials, stay off flooded roads, and get to higher ground now. My heart is with every family in harm’s way, and with the first responders and neighbors already out in the water pulling people to safety. When I am Governor, we will finish real warning systems, fund the responders who protect our communities, and treat flood readiness as the necessity that it is.”
