STATEMENT: Hinojosa on the Start of Early Voting in the Texas Primary Runoff Elections

Austin, TX – Gina Hinojosa, Democratic nominee for Texas Governor, released the following statement on the first day of early voting in the Texas primary runoff elections:

“No matter who wins in the Republican primaries next Tuesday, they will be saddled with the affordability crisis that the Greg Abbott Corruption Tax has forced on every Texas family.

“In election after election this year, Texans have turned out in record numbers to reject Abbott’s agenda, because he and his donors have nothing to offer but higher prices, shuttered neighborhood schools, and a government that works for the billionaire class instead of working people.”

Recent independent polling shows the Texas governor’s race within 5 points, with Hinojosa winning independents, moderates, Latinos, and every key demographic Abbott needs to hold. Texans are making it clear: they’re ready to fire Greg Abbott and put Gina Hinojosa in the governor’s office.
