Austin, TX – Last night, Democratic nominee for Texas governor Gina Hinojosa joined Erin Burnett to discuss the results of the Texas primary runoffs and how Greg Abbott’s record of corruption and higher prices will drag Republicans down-ballot.
“Republicans are afraid,” Hinojosa said. “Greg Abbott said to his donors last week that they are at real risk of losing seats statewide, so Republicans are playing dirty. That’s what they do, so it’s important that we have everybody participating and voting because this is our best chance as Democrats in 25 years to win.”
Hinojosa added, “You have Paxton and Greg Abbott – both are corrupt crooks. Greg Abbott’s given $1 billion in no-bid contracts to his donors. He rammed through a $1 billion school voucher scam when he received the largest campaign contribution in all of Texas history from an out-of-state billionaire. That’s the Greg Abbott Corruption Tax.”
At the lowest approval rating of his career, Greg Abbott told donors he was scared of losing his majority and statewide seats – and he should be. Texans are ready to take back their communities from Abbott’s corrupt leadership and elect Gina Hinojosa this November.
